Happy Birthday, Falcom!

10 years ago today we celebrated an important event in the life of all island children: Falcom's First Birthday! Look at the excited face! First birthdays are always a big deal because in the old days it meant you were probably going to live.

Reshina put out a big spread and all the extended family came.

This year things are changing. Falcom did not want a fancy cake. He just wanted to invite his family friends. On Saturday we will be hosting an overnight girlfriend extravaganza.

As I looked around the room I realized that this 11 year old birthday is much the same as his first birthday. Instead of being surrounded by island family he is surrounded by Alaskan family.

Due to exhaustion, I am unable to upload the rest of the pictures tonight. I will put them on tomorrow sometime.
